How Pingado works
Pingado sits between your site, your payment provider and your ad accounts. It does three things:
- Records where each visitor came from. The snippet on your site stores the ad click ID and UTM parameters of every visit.
- Sends each conversion to your ad platforms. Leads come from forms on your site. Trials and purchases come from your payment provider. Each conversion goes to every connected platform, from the visitor’s browser and from Pingado’s servers, with one shared ID so the platform counts it once.
- Reports what each campaign earned. Pingado reads spend from each ad account and puts it next to the revenue it attributed to that account’s campaigns.

The pieces
Section titled “The pieces”| Piece | What it does |
|---|---|
| Snippet | A script tag on every page. Records visits and leads, loads each ad platform’s pixel, and confirms orders on your confirmation page. |
| Tracking domain | A subdomain of your site, such as p.yoursite.com, that serves the snippet so its cookies are first-party. |
| Payment provider | Sends Pingado a webhook for every trial, purchase, renewal and refund. |
| Ad platforms | Receive your conversions, and give Pingado read access to spend per campaign. |
What counts as a conversion
Section titled “What counts as a conversion”You choose which of these count, and each one is sent to your ad platforms:
- Lead: a visitor submitted a form with an email address.
- Trial started: a subscription began with no charge.
- Purchase: the first paid charge, including the first charge after a trial.
- Booked call: a visitor booked a meeting, for lead generation businesses.
Renewals and refunds are recorded for your reports. Renewals are sent to ad platforms when you turn them on. Refunds are never sent.
Why conversions come from your payment provider
Section titled “Why conversions come from your payment provider”A thank-you page can load twice, be skipped, or report the wrong amount. Your payment provider knows whether a checkout started a trial or took a payment, and for how much. Pingado waits for that confirmation before it sends a trial or purchase anywhere, including from the browser.
